Roots en Route Festival
Celebrating Black History Month
SAVE THE DATE!
February 2nd to 8th, 2014
Roots en Route was created to promote a complex understanding of blackness and africans, which recognizes the different histories that shape diffent experiences of being black. While many festivals tend to have a very limited scope in order to focus closely on a topic or issue, Roots en Route understands itself as a space for opening opportunities and connections. It is also committed to working collaboratively at every opportunity and in all relevant fields. There are festivals in Hamilton that present excellence in arts and culture, however there is none that connects these specific communities to their heritage or that fosters people's knowledge of their culture and history.
